On June 18th leaders of the 8 most powerful nations will meet for the G8 summit in Germany. On their agenda will be more economic growth, more free trade and more power for corporations. Some people don't think this is a very good idea - so across the globe on June 18th, people will be organising demonstrations. In the UK there will be a massive carnival in the city of London "replacing the roar of profit and plunder with the sounds and rhythms of party, carnival and pleasure". (SchNEWS likes the sound of that). Meet 12 noon, Liverpool Street Station, London.
