Grimsby Peakes Parkway Road Protest
There have been lots of actions by local people against this new road.
A local head teacher went down to the construction site to ask children if
they had written permission from their parents to be there. One replied
-yes sir, if you want to check, ask my mum, she's on that digger over there ...
Fencing work has just started but actions are still easy as you can just
walk straight in. There is a march planned for Saturday, meet midday at
Grimsby town hall, followed by a party on the route.
On Sunday there will be a funeral procession and tree planting.
So far there have been 9 arrests for aggrevated trespass, one teenager was
bailed not to enter within 100 meters of the route, this conveniently puts
home and school out of bounds.
