Aberdeen Bypass - objections / petition - ending 9th Feb 07
Dear Supporter,
As I indicated in my message of 27 November, the draft road orders were published on 15th December, initiating an objection period which will end on 9th February 2007, roughly three weeks from now.
You can object to the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (Aberdeen Bypass) online by logging on to -
http://www.road-sense.org
and following the link at the top of the page ('Cyberaction') or at the bottom left hand side.
Both those links will take you to the relevant page with six valid objection points and a space for your own personal comments. Fill in your details and object by clicking the 'Submit to Transport Scotland' button at the bottom of the page. It'll only take a minute.
Please pass this e-mail around all your friends and family so that we can get a number of objections which is even greater than that ot the petition signatures (4860). Remember that husbands and wives should object separately and that there is no geographical limit to where the objections come from.
It is practically inevitable that there will be a public local inquiry either at the end of this year or in spring 2008. However, it is very important to get as high a number of objections as possible in order to show the strength of feeling against this road project.
If you feel like writing a longer letter of objection, there are guidelines on the Road Sense website under 'How to object to the Draft Road Orders'.
For those of you who live locally, there is a public meeting tomorrow Sunday 21st January at 2.30 pm at the International School in Milltimber. Amongst other things, this will update everyone on what is going on.
As for the petition, I am now in the course of drafting my response to the petitions committee. The petition will be before the committee again on 6th March when its further progress will be decided. I will make a fairly detailed response in order to ensure that it will be put before the Transport Committee. You will hear of progress in due course.
There is a growing feeling amongst us objectors that we will win this battle, more and more people are waking up to the folly of this scheme, I will try and give you an update in my next e-mail.
Please object online now, thank you for your continued support.
With best wishes,
Paddy Imhof
