2 protestors holding up bulldozers at St Davids Wood

help and support needed very urgently

Have just spoken to someone from the protest. 100 trees have been chopped down today but it stopped when two protesters locked on and stopped the bulldozers. They need help urgently - the two of them are now fighting Costain and Tarmac alone.

No camp has been set up yet. If it's not done within the next day or two it could be TOO LATE! Can anyone get there??

Earlier reports of number of trees is wrong, there's over 1,000. The 100 down today were newer ones, another day or so and they'll be starting on the Ancient Woods, Oak, Beech, Scots Pine, huge, beautiful trees.

The site, St Davids Wood, is 5 minutes from Blackwood town centre.
If going by train/bus, from Cardiff Station bus number 26 from bay C1.

Once there call 07811 948764 or 07708 420446 to find them.

unCOSTAINable

Hundreds of trees are being felled for a £30 million, 2 mile stretch of bypass in Blackwood, near Newport, South Wales. The contractors Costain (who people might remember from Newbury) are building a compound as we type and people have started taking direct action. More people are urgently needed on site.
