Subject: PROTEST DATE - TITNORE WOODS
PROTEST DATE - TITNORE WOODS (WORTHING) - 26TH MAY 2002
At the meeting held by POW! (Protect Our Woodland) on Tuesday night it was agreed that a major protest walk/demonstration/picnic against the proposed desecration of Titnore Woods at Durrington, Worthing, will be held in May. The application - for more than 800 houses plus possible industrial estate and road widening on ancient woodland - won't be considered by Worthing Borough Council until later in the summer (no date yet).
Other smaller events will be held in the town in the meantime and another meeting is scheduled for Tuesday April 2, 7.45pm, upstairs at The Downview, opp West Worthing station.
Here are the details of the big protest -
