Prosecution of Ashingdon protesters dropped

All charges against the 10 Ashingdon protesters arrested for trying to stop a housing development have been dropped. Though Wilcon Homes felt their case was water tight, with 20+ witnesses and their behaviour beyond reproach, they decided it was in the public interest to drop the case. Hooray!

Mass invasion of the site planned: December 16th

[Veterans of the protest camp opposing the construction of a housing development in Ashingdon, Kent were due to appear at Southend Magistrates Court this coming Monday (17th). The 10 campaigners would have faced charges under Section 10 of the Criminal Law Act 1977, relating to obstructing an officer or sheriff in their duty.]
